Solution at a Glance
PeerTV’s solution enables Content Providers, ISPs and Operators to deliver OTT (Over-the-Top) TV services including LIVE CHANNELS VOD and free public content over the open Internet such as PODCASTS. The PeerTV solution combines the Peerstation Internet based Set Top Boxes and the MX 3.0 Middleware which integrate easily with leading complementary components such as CDN (Content Delivery Network) & DRM.
Customer’s Challenges
Would-be operators of TV networks targeting special interest groups (‘narrowcasting’) need a low complexity and affordable starting point so that market validation is performed before heavy investment is required. By using the Internet rather than specially built networks such as cable and satellite, the investment in building a ‘pipe’ is eliminated.
